Why do you need this oil-filled pressure gauge? It is essential because, compared to an air-filled gauge, it is much quieter due to water's tendency to vibrate during operation. Additionally, it has a longer lifespan as the oil in the gauge absorbs vibrations that can lead to excessive wear in air-filled gauges. Adequate pounds per square inch (PSI) is crucial for the proper functioning of a reverse osmosis unit. Insufficient water pressure is a major factor contributing to poor performance in RO systems. Using a pressure gauge ensures that the correct pressure is being supplied and helps identify pressure drops, indicating when sediment and carbon blocks need to be replaced.
The glycerin-filled pressure gauge effectively absorbs vibrations and pressure spikes, thereby extending its service life. It comes equipped with 1/4" quick connect fittings for easy in-line installation before the RO membrane. What is included in the package? The package contains a pressure gauge, a 1/4" female thread to 1/4" quick connect adapter, and a 1/4" tee stem plug.
Features: - High-quality materials: The pressure gauge is constructed from 304 stainless steel, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The RO fittings are made from safe, non-toxic materials, ensuring they are compatible with reverse osmosis systems. - Specifications & compatibility: The gauge features a 2.5" dial with a 1/4" male NPT lower mount connection. It weighs approximately 0.4lb and has a measurement range of 0-0.7Mpa/1Mpa/1.6Mpa. The gauge is accurate to within +/-3-2-3% and can withstand temperatures ranging from -25° to +50°. It comes with 1/4" push-to-connect fittings and works with standard 1/4 OD RO tubings for water filtration systems. - Easy installation: Simply wrap plumbing tape around the 1/4 male connection to prevent leaks. Assemble the gauge as shown in the provided photo, insert the 1/4" tubing into each end of the tee, and secure the gauge upright with Teflon tape or zip ties. To remove, push in the outer circle on each end and pull out. Ensure the tubing is cut squarely to prevent leaks, and tighten the plastic fitting connected to the gauge with an adjustable wrench. - Multi-functionality: This water pressure test kit is primarily used for measuring water filter pump/holding tank pressure in whole-house reverse osmosis water filtration systems. However, it can also be used for compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, outdoor irrigation pumps, pool pumps and filters, and even beer pressure fermentation. - Notes: The air bubble at the top of the gauge face is intentional and indicates that the gauge is functioning correctly. Do not remove the rubber plug on the top of the meter, as this may allow contaminants and moisture to enter and cause the glycerin to leak.
